Then, I Did Win $10, 000 for My Business, HomeBAnx — Giving 1 Million Homes to the Poor

My business idea disrupts the building sector in Canada. It disrupts inequality, it disrupts democracy and it is a strike against the rich.

I believe housing is a human right and not a commodity. People should have homes they own, which gives them dignity and peace of mind. Homes that are theirs, because then they know they are safe and no one has the power to evict them or force them to leave.

No doubt, there will be some who’ll pop up in the comments to explain to me how this is unrealistic and unworkable. Don’t bother. I’m not looking at fulfilling the goal of 1 million homes to Canadians from the lens of capitalism. Our current economic system depends on disenfranchising and impoverishing many in order to line the bottomless pockets of the greedy, immoral, and corrupt taker class. I have no interest in such a thoroughly vulgar and evil system.

Where I am Now

On the morning of the pitch contest, I still hadn’t been able to memorize my pitch. My mind was blocked and I had no idea why. It’s only now I realize, that if I had won the $10,000 at that time, I might have frittered it away.
